Eschatology, from the Greek Eschatos meaning "last" plus logos meaning "words", "cause", "sayings," or "discourse" ; the study of last things, the culmination of events prior to Christ's return, of the state of man after death, Jesus' second coming, the resurrection of the dead, the consumation of Christ's kingdom, the last judgement, and the eternal state.
